Military bosses paid out out a lot more than £1million just after a member of the Armed Forces was wounded — by a closing doorway.
Officers refused to say how the accident happened but former payments were being manufactured to folks who experienced fingers trapped or damaged by a doorway slamming.
The Ministry of Defence also forked out £1million to someone hurt in a fall.
And £888,000 went to a serviceman exposed to the chilly, figures clearly show.
But these ended up dwarfed by a £12million payout considered to be joined to botched maternity care.
Some £6million went to a soldier imagined to have suffered burns though putting out a hearth though training overseas and £4.1million was paid in a chemical publicity circumstance.
The MoD figures for 2022/23, which consist of authorized fees, dwarf all those for staff wounded in the line of duty, which is capped at £575,000.
The TaxPayers’ Alliance explained the costs “outline the value of guaranteeing mishaps are avoided”.
The MoD stated it has “robust processes”.
