Timothée Chalamet seemed ready for perform at the magical chocolate factory at the premiere of Wonka in Tokyo on Monday, November 20.

The 27-calendar year-old actor was a need to-see in a shiny light purple blazer by Prada, which he tucked into coordinating lilac trousers — a presumed nod to his role as Willy Wonka.

Chalamet concluded the ensemble with shiny white boots and a silver chain necklace. He wore his signature brunette curls free and tossed to just one aspect.

When noteworthy, Chalamet’s Monday ensemble is not unforeseen. The Woman Chook star is recognized to drive fashion boundaries with the use of colour, textures and out-of-the-box silhouettes. Take the 2022 Venice Movie Competition, for instance. Chalamet produced headlines when he graced the crimson carpet function in a sparkly purple cowl neck halter major teamed with matching crimson trousers and pointed-toe boots.

Chalamet’s Monday design second was presumably a nod to Wonka’s iconic purple coat.

Wonka follows the titular character — who was at the heart of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory — as he evolves into an inventor, magician and the beloved chocolate maker.

In addition to Chalamet, the film stars Olivia Colman, Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Keegan-Michael Crucial and a lot more.

Chalamet opened up about operating on the film at the Tokyo premiere, sharing for each Wide range, “[Director] Paul King wrote a attractive script here, about a younger Willy Wonka who follows his goals.”

Chalamet continued, “If you would’ve explained to me when I was 12 many years old, when I was 10 several years aged watching the Johnny Depp version of Willy Wonka that I’d get to be listed here in Tokyo endorsing this motion picture as Willy Wonka, standing up coming to Hugh Grant, I would’ve explained to you you had been lying. So, I guess like the film, abide by your goals.” (Depp, now 60, portrayed Wonka in Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Manufacturing unit, which was introduced in 2005, and also starred Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Bucket.)

In a prior Wide range job interview, Chalamet praised the film’s lightheartedness amid this sort of dim situations.

“That’s why I was drawn to it,” he informed the publication in May. “In a time and local weather of rigorous political rhetoric, when there’s so a lot terrible information all the time, this is with any luck , likely to be a piece of chocolate. … This is a Willy that’s complete of joy and hope and desire to grow to be the greatest chocolatier.”

Wonka debuts in theaters on Friday, December 15.
